There’s a local historical photos page I follow on Facebook. Every so often they post something with cars in it. It’s pretty cool.

This was the era when prewar ferries were struggling with the increasing width of cars, forcing some significant capacity reductions, depending on the vessel.

On closer inspection this pic may be from the eary 60's. The ferry on the left was launched in 1950 (and served until 2005!) but the o ne on the right on seems to match the MV Uncatena, which was built in ‘65. The side-loading prewar boats would have been nearly or completely phased out by then and replaced with modern RO/RO designs.
